Topaz Theatre Brach was founded in 1995 by principal Ann Atherton as part of Topaz
Dancentre, which was established in 1982. Ann is a fully qualified teacher with the IDTA
and UKA dance organisations.
She performed worldwide at top cabaret venus as a professional dancer before embarking
on her teaching career here at Topaz.
We pride ourselves on our high standard of teaching in a friendly and caring envronment...
A career in the theatre requires self discipline and respsect along with the ability to dance,
sing and act. Classes are available in all of these disciplines to enable pupils to pursue a
professional theatrical career, or to use the confidence and communication skills they have
learnt in another way.
Examinations and medal tests are taken with the International Dance Teacher's Association,
and the United Kingdom Alliance. All pupils have the opportunity to take medals and
exams if they wish, through this they are able to have a sese of achievement.

All students are eligible to take part in our theatre branch show which takes place every 18
months in a professional theatre. This is a spectacular event and all the students enjoy that feeling
of 'treading the boards'...

For those students who cant get enough of performing, we run 'showgroup' classes in junior
and senior age groups. These are classes where all the work leads to a performance. Each
session is carefully structured to show off the presentation and performance skills of each
pupil. More regular performance events showcasing their work are arranged for these classes.
